what is an IICRC certified company?
The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) plays an important part here at SERVPRO of South Mecklenburg County. Owners Jim Shuman and AnneMarie Shuman from Charlotte, NC pride themselves on employing highly trained restoration specialists with extensive experience.
The IICRC organization was founded in 1972 and has worked to improve the cleaning and restoration industry’s standards so that the customers always get the best service possible. Standards are constantly changing as feedback is received from professionals near and far.
The IICRC and its guidelines instruct how our team carries out most of the work regarding water restoration, fire restoration, mold remediation, carpet and upholstery cleaning, and other cleaning and restoration services.
IICRC Standards
Being an IICRC accredited firm means we have met a precise list of standards in business ethics and expertise:
- Present accurate information to consumers and conduct business with honesty and integrity.
- Require that the technician on any job has been formally trained and has passed all of the required tests.
- Require technicians to continue their education to keep up with the latest updates in the industry.
- Maintain liability insurance to protect all of the parties if an accident were to occur.
- Maintain a written complaint policy and agree to Better Business Bureau or similar entity to solve disputes, and accept the conclusions and recommendations of this arbitration.
Our Standards
As alluded to, all SERVPRO of South Mecklenburg County technicians must go to an approved IICRC training school to be awarded and learn more about specific industry techniques and standards, including water restoration, fire restoration, upholstery cleaning, carpet cleaning, and applied structural drying. Technicians must prove that they can perform at the highest standards in the safest manner.
