The Beach
Ocean Isle Beach
The Drive
This easy drive on I-74 can take anywhere from 3 hours to 4 hours depending on traffic, making it the perfect weekend getaway.
Activities
- Head to the beach! With the whole stretch of Ocean Isle being open to the public, finding a place to lounge on the beach isn’t difficult. View the public beach access map, and check the public beach access list for current closures and handicap accessibility. When you hit the beach, keep beach rules in mind, as they are in effect to keep you and those around you safe.
- Visit Town Center Park! If you are traveling with kids, this park is perfect for playtime. With a playspace and splash pad, and a covered seating area for parents, the whole family will love spending time at this park, just a short walk from the beach. You can even catch a movie in the park this summer!
- Catch some fish. Choose from four local fishing charters to bring home your very own fresh catch.
- Zip through the trees, glide through the swamp and tread through the mud at The Swamp Park. With activities for every age, this is a great way to get out of the hot afternoon sun.
- Venture down to South Carolina for some fun in Myrtle Beach. With hundreds of restaurants, shops, and fun activities like Broadway At The Beach Myrtle Beach is a great place to spend the afternoon.
Dine
- Save this handy list of local restaurants with options from breakfast all the way to dessert.
- Venture further out to Snooky’s in North Myrtle for a great bite on the waterfront.
- Get Causeway Gourmet for delicious sandwiches and a slice of cake.
