Did you know that SERVPRO of South Mecklenburg County will add insulation after we have mitigated your crawl spaces or attics? Well, we do!

The first place you should add more insulation is always the attic. Placing insulation between and over floor joists helps seal off the living spaces below. Some attics can benefit from insulating the rafters as well. The U.S. Department of Energy recommends loose-fill insulation for attics.

Crawl space insulation is another important place to insulate your home. This insulation process can vary if your crawl space is ventilated or unventilated, however, we generally recommend extra insulation between the floor and the crawl space of your house.

No matter what part of your home needs more insulation or what kind of insulation you use, be sure to always follow proper safety guidelines set by the Insulation Institute. Important safety measures should always include eye protection and gloves and respirators are often required for some insulation types.
